Measuring Up: Crown Heights Vs. Prospect Heights
We are introducing a new series of posts called “Measuring Up”, which will compare Crown Heights to other neighborhoods in Brooklyn and NYC. This first post compares Crown Heights to Prospect Heights. Surprising to us, the crime index for Crown Heights was less than the national crime average while the index for Prospect Heights was greater than the national average. However, there is a footnote that might help explain this.

I’d also include the Frankin Ave Shuttle under subway access as it gives CH residents access to a number of other subway lines. You also may want to include access to the D and the (W,R??) trains for PH residents at the station located at Park and Flatbush.
I also don’t think you can include the B25 or B26 buses for either PH or CH. Both buses run on Fulton Street, which is outside the boundaries for both neighborhoods.
Franklin Ave Shuttle – right on!
25, 26 – I believe they used to be strictly Fulton, but I believe circa 2007 or so, they were partially rerouted down a (relatively short) stretch of Atlantic in both Crown Heights and Prospect Heights.
D and other trains – You’re right. Looks like there are a number of other trains that are either within or close to PH that we missed. We will update.
