Tens of thousands of people are expected at a Queens cemetery tonight to honor a former pillar of the Orthodox Jewish community.

Rabbi Menachem Schneerson died on June 12, 1994, but tonight marks the 15th anniversary of his death on the Jewish calendar.

Commonly known as “The Rebbe,” Schneerson was a major figure in Brooklyn and the city as a whole, leading the Crown Heights-based Lubavitch movement for over 40 years.
