We swung by the Kid’s Day activities today, which took place on Sterling Place between Franklin and Classon. As expected, crowds of young people (and not so young people) were milling about enjoying the day. Festivities included food, face painting, a large water slide and a dunking booth. When we were there, the proprietor of About Time Boutique, Kevin, was the designated dunkee – despite Kevin’s good-natured taunting, the kids hit their target about 5 out of every 10 attempts. Kevin spent about just as much time in the water as out.
Reps from About Time, which sponsored the day, were also out pressing t-shirts for guests on the spot right on the sidewalk. We passed by a similar fest on St. Marks Place between Brooklyn and New York Avenues. ‘Twas a day of fun in Crown Heights.
