We’ve spent a lot of time focusing on the heavily contested city council race in district 36, but wanted to take some time to spotlight the 35th district city councilmanic race as well. The 35th district covers Clinton Hill, Fort Greene, part of Crown Heights, Prospect Heights, Bedford-Stuyvesant; contenders for the race are the incumbent, Councilwoman Letitia James, and challengers Medhanie Estiphanos and Delia Hunley-Adossa.  

Recently, the Brooklyn Paper sponsored and covered a debate between competitors in the 35th councilmanic district.  Topics such as the Fulton Street BID, affordable housing, charter schools, vouchers, and of course, Atlantic Yards were center stage.  The moderators are very sharp and self proclaimed “bull dogs”, so as you might imagine the debate gets very intense at time, not only as between the moderators and the debaters but between the debaters themselves.  The Brooklyn Paper’s coverage includes a write-up and a video of the entire debate - well worth checking out!
