We recently conducted a poll on asking readers to vote on whether as mayoral candidate Bill Thompson contends, Eight is Enough, and it’s time for Mike Bloomberg’s stay at Gracie Mansion to end. In hindsight the poll questions may
have been awkwardly phrased thereby making it somewhat difficult to make any definitive claims about the results. Still, the findings were interesting 39% of those responding said Eight was in fact Enough and Bloomberg must go. This might have proven a victory for Thompson’s camp except, 25% of respondents declared that while eight is enough, Thompson does not deserve four.
Either we have an indecisive bunch on this here side of town or this election is more up for grabs than we first thought. From what we have been able to gather in conversations around town is that while most voters are frustrated by Bloomberg’s decision to upend term limits, they are not motivated enough in either direction by his performance as Mayor to boot him out of office. Thus far this has left the door open for Thompson’s campaign to come in and pull off an upset, but with election day now two weeks away, it appears as if this door may be rapidly closing.

any thoughts on our local city council election? Speaking of eight is enough- Al Vann has represented (if you could call it that) Bed Stuy and Crown Heights for eight years and has done… exactly what? Mark Winston Griffith is back on the ballot for the general election under the Working Families Party, I’m wondering if anybody has heard about him. If not, maybe take a few minutes to check out mwgriffith.com. Thoughts???
