This weekend we decided to trek around Crown Heights to speak with a bunch of local business owners about what they do in the neighborhood.  We have a bunch of interesting posts born from that walk, which will be posted over the upcoming weeks.

In any event, in our wanderings around town, we spotted the beginnings of yet another new shop on Franklin Avenue. Rumor has it that the space will be a burger joint owned by the owners of Franklin Park. Since we were on our way to a few other stops in the neighborhood, we did not actually have a chance to speak with the guys outside (one of whom was indeed the owner of Franklin Park). But we are going to stay tuned to I Love Franklin Ave over the coming weeks who will invariably do a great profile of this Franklin Avenue establishment as it comes further along…

On a slightly related note, we’ve been waiting to hear word on the fate of Homage – the burger bar located on Park Place between Franklin and Classon – which has been closed since June as a result of a tragic fire that originated from the apartment above it. We know a friend of the owners who informed us (a couple of months ago) that the fate of Homage was still in the air as the owners wade through insurance drama. Unfortunately, that’s all we know for now.
