Finally!  After a prolonged wait, the new Atlantic Terminal Pavilion of the LIRR is complete.  In honor of the unveiling of the new station, we decided to take some photos from the Crown Heights-Nostrand Avenue stop of the LIRR.

Before you start rolling your eyes (or mousepads as the case may be) the subway does not have a monopoly on rail based-transportation in Crown Heights.  I myself had passed under the LIRR hundreds of times, but completely disregarded it until I was recently forced to take it.   True, it’s more expensive, however it is significantly more reliable.  You can get to Atlantic Mall in about 6 minutes.  And for anyone headed to JFK, the  trip’s a breeze (quicker than either Subway or car) – just 13 minutes  to Jamaica, then hop on the Airtrain, and you’re there.  If only getting through security was as fast…but alas.
