We’ve been telling folks, and now it’s official.  Crown Heights’ Super Wings has been crowned the best wings in Brooklyn, beating out 16 other challengers from across Brooklyn. From Super Wings FB page:

If you missed it, the event was packed.  Wings, beer, and celery sticks everywhere.  Three floors brimming with hungry finger licking spectators.   Unfortunately, we could not get better pictures because we were too busy licking our fingers ourselves.  Update (2/15/10 9:27 a.m.): But fortunately, we were just hipped to some great pictures on Metromix NY.

To be crowned the victor says a lot about just how super Super Wings’ wings are.   Super Wings, which has only one location and has not even been open for 6 months yet, beat out challengers such as Atomic Wings, which has 10 locations across New York and New Jersey.

Flavor-wise, Super Wings’ wings truly stood out from the pack.  Almost all of the other challengers stuck to a very traditional buffalo wing sauce.  And after sampling about 6 wings drenched in that hot sauce and butter combo, our tongue got a little bored.  Super Wings veered from the traditional flavor profile by adding a Caribbean inspired nuance, but they still honored what makes buffalo wings so fun to eat – the spiciness.  Delicious!
