Just passed by the site of the hotel going up on Atlantic between Nostrand and New York Avenues. There is a sign up that says “Best Western Coming Soon” (sorry, didn’t have the cam so will have to capture it next time).

We’d previously reported that the hotel would be either a Best Western or a Quality Inn.   Turns out that this one is a Best Western and the Quality Inn is located further east at East New York Avenue LIRR stop on Atlantic.

In between these two hotel sits another hotel on Atlantic around Utica with a “Grand Opening” sign on front – though I recall seeing that sign for some time.  And, to round out this virtual tour of the local hospitality industry, some may have noticed a new building going up at 1365 Fulton Street at New York Avenue.  We spoke with the owner of the development who says he’s turning it into vacation rentals  (on a totally unrelated but completely interesting note, the developer’s father – who we had a wonderful chat with -  is one of the surviving Tuskegee Airmen and lives right here in Central Brooklyn; there’s even a picture of him up in the Applebee’s at New York in Fulton).

Add to that the local bed and breakfasts, including the Missing Lantern located at 1156 Dean Street (between Nostrand and Bedford), and it seems that there is a nice little potpourri of hospitality options developing.
