Are revolutionary war artifacts located in Crown Heights?

An interesting article appeared in today’s Daily News about a potential historical site in Crown Heights.  According to the article,  Clove Road – a tiny road bounded by Nostrand, New York Ave, Empire Boulevard, and Sullivan – served as an American outpost during the 1776 Battle of Brooklyn, with upwards of 800 American soldiers guarding the street (then known as Bedford Pass) from British forces.   Archeologists are hoping to uncover evidence of the site’s historical ties, though the prospects of doing so are described as “lukewarm”.   Of course, as the article points out, an excavation could greatly inconvenience residents who live near the site, but just imagine how neat it would be if something were uncovered!
