So we’ve got the scoop on New Apache Bakery. As one of our commenter’s noted, New Apache Bakery is a throwback to “Apache Bakery” used to exist in the neighborhood some time ago. Back then, the emphasis was on foods like patties. Now, in its new life, the owners have brought back the popular patties, but are also selling a generous selection of baked goods – American favorites like cupcakes, cakes, and pies, and Caribbean favorites like coconut puffs and currant rolls – all baked on site. I tried the coconut puffs (2 for $1.00) and they were great! Fluffy, not too dense, not overly sweet as sometimes these treats tend to be. Definitely worth checking out. Also, they have a twitter page, so you can get updates and the latest deals.

I live across the street and their cupcakes and banana bread are also good! If they had decent iced coffee, I’d be there everyday.
I actually tried to red velvet cupcake. Nothing special… Ah well. Can’t win them all.
