Some may have noticed that Essentials Organic, which was a relatively new restaurant located on the corner of Sterling Place and Nostrand Avenue, has gone out of business.   They seemed to struggle with their menu, and unfortunately never seemed to have any products.  Well, a few weeks ago we noticed that the shutters were down and a “for rent” went up.   But it looks a new restaurant called “Joy and Snook” will be opening in the location.  The sign says that they will serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner and will include baked goods.  Hmm … we will cross our fingers and wish the new owners best of luck!

In other news we spotted a “99 cent store coming soon” on one of the newly vacant businesses on Nostrand … why oh why do we need any more 99 cents stores around here?  Maybe they can consolidate and start charging us $5 instead of 99 cents, and open up the are you serious?
