Lot’s of new dining/restaurant activity going on around Crown Heights.  We recently reported about the new steakhouse, coffee shop, and sandwich shop going up on Nostrand.  Even Super Wings and Joey’s have expanded their menu options.  Not to mention that the Franklin Avenue area will soon have a new Mexican restaurant.

Well there’s more.  On Saturday I passed the former location of Syl Williamson’s Legacy Awards store on the NE corner of Nostrand Ave. and Park Pl and saw the gate up and construction activity inside.

Excited at the prospect of a new business coming to the ave., I popped inside to inquire more. The owner was not around and the construction workers, who were not sure what type of cuisine would be served, did assure me that it would be an restaurant with sit down seating.

So while residents ponder the fate of the ever popular local favorite, Crow Hill Bistro (which according to the chatter on Brooklynian has been shutter for a few weeks now, though the fate is still undetermined), at least we may have another sit down restaurant to look forward to.  We will post updates as to the name, cuisine and opening date as soon we can!
