Friends of Brower Park is hosting “It’s My Park Day” in conjunction with The New York City Park’s Department

and Partnership for Parks on Saturday, May 15, 2010. It’s a day of volunteer projects and events in parks throughout the five boroughs of New York City.

The Brower Park day’s events will begin at 10:00 AM and run to 3:00 PM.  The community is invited to come out to participate in clean up and planting projects.  We will be painting the wall and entrances to the park as well as planting and general sprucing up. Brower Park is located behind the Brooklyn Children’s Museum, between Park and Prospect Places and Kingston and Brooklyn Avenues.

Participants will be entertained by community based drummers and presented with give-a-ways and refreshments.  We look forward to the community coming out and getting involved!

Friends of Brower Park, Crown Heights North, Brooklyn

Apparently the city’s Department of Information and Technology has recently announced a new program to add Wifi in various parks across the city, including in 8 parks in Brooklyn.  While we could not determine whether Brower Park or St. Johns Park would be included in the ranks, we are curious what residents think of the idea.
